There are few baking projects I've done that I truly felt pressed for time but loved the end result - until this week! One of my favorite Memphis bloggers and beauty + lifestyle influencers, Kim Thomas, mentioned that Crazy Beautiful Boutique was having a private influencer holiday party where some fun, glam-inspired Christmas goodies would be appreciated. I said yes!
If there's anything I love more than getting a fun, challenging new baking project, it's making it for people who will really appreciate the eye-catching appeal of the detail work I love to do so much. I also love the team of lady-bosses at Crazy Beautiful so anything I can do to help, I will.
I started with an idea - the arrangement would need a standout centerpiece. That's where my spunky pink snowy Christmas trees came in. I used pink buttercream inside a piping bag fitted with a #30 Wilton tip, small ice cream cones, powdered sugar, and an assortment of sprinkles.
To ensure the essential points of the Christmas tree clung to the cone, I spread buttercream all over every cone before piping.
Then, I began piping away! I always find that being random with a continuous piping design can make it seem a little more realistic - especially when it's something floral.
I followed up with some chocolate white and pink pearls of different sizes and topped them off with a sprinkling of powdered sugar for that nice "just snowed" vibe.
For the other cupcakes I made a minty blue buttercream and piped out some almond bark reindeer antlers and snowflakes to add some fun wintry designs to the mix.
The end result was a hit! After a very slow and panicked drive from Cordova to Midtown Memphis to deliver, they arrived in perfect condition. My favorite part of any baking delivery is the look on my patron's faces fully delighted and surprised by what I bring to the table. To end every baking project with that moment is all I could ask for <3
